How to book your dream wedding venue?

Follow our top tips.

Finding the perfect wedding venue should be your top priority, but we also know it can be the most stressful part of wedding planning for couples. As experienced wedding planners who have planned weddings at many different venues, we are sharing insider tips to help you book your dream wedding venue:

Opt for an Off-Season Dates

Popular venues book up quickly for peak summer and weekend dates. If you have your heart set on a particular wedding venue, try choosing a date in the off-season like Autumn or Winter - you might find they have more available dates. This is also a way to hire your venue for slightly cheaper rates!

Consider a Weekday Wedding

If most Saturdays & Sundays are already booked, consider having a weekday wedding. Most venues will have more choices of dates available for mid-week. Venues are also typically more affordable on weekdays and it is becoming increasingly popular to have a Thursday or Friday wedding.

Do you want an Exclusive Venue?

Some larger venues host more than one wedding at a time. Decide if sharing your venue with another couple is an option for you or if exclusivity is a priority. Opting to share your venue will open up more venue options and available dates. Just remember that exclusive hire of venues often come with a higher price tag.

Book Early!

Start your venue visits as soon as you get engaged, ideally at least 1.5-2 years before your wedding date. Popular venues can book up 3 years in advance! If you fall in love with a venue on your first visit, then put down a deposit to secure your date, especially if you know it’s a sought-after venue!

Venue Style

Keep venue style and features in mind. Consider the size of the venue for your number of guests and what spaces the venue has to offer. If you are booking an off-season wedding, make sure there is plenty of space inside the venue to combat bad weather.

Work with a Wedding Planner

When you choose to work with a wedding planner, you gain access to their wedding industry connections which include their network of wedding venues. We advise our couples on highly recommended venues, details of locations and can get in contact with venues much easier than you might be able to.

We work closely with our couples to ensure they secure their dream wedding venue. From accompanying you on venue visits to helping negotiate the T&C’s and your contract with the venue, we are there every step of the way with you.
